X.509 Certificate

X.509 is an International Telecommunication Union (ITU) standard that defines the format of public key certificates. An X.509 certificate binds an identity to a public key using a digital signature.

The criteria for X.509 compliance is that the peer certificate must not contain less secure signature algorithms or Elliptic Curves (EC).

When you add or import the certificate, Secure Email and Web Manager performs X.509 validation of the certificate. Secure Email and Web Manager performs X.509 validation of the peer certificate if the X.509 validation is enabled during the peer certificate validation of the server. The detailed logging is tracked in the Secure Email and Web Manager system.current log files.
